Virtus.pro overcome NiP 2-0 (de_train 16-14, de_inferno 16-5) to make it to the semi-finals of ESL One Cologne, where they will meet the winner of fnatic and Luminosity tomorrow.
NiP started off strong on de_train, winning both the pistol and the follow-up anti-ecos, and they were even up 7-2 at one point before Virtus.pro started trading rounds.
The half ended up going 9-6 in the way of the Swedes and a Finn, and Aleksi "allu" Jalli's 2-on-4 heroics put his team on a 12-6 lead, but from there on the Polish defence was too strong for NiP to put a dent in it for multiple consecutive rounds.
After a timeout at 12-12, understandably called by NiP, the five-time major finalists took the lead back, only to be put on an eco right after the following gunround. Virtus.pro managed to take over the economy from their six-round streak and were able to buy despite NiP winning another round, and ended up closing de_train 16-14 for a 1-0 lead in the series.

de_inferno, on the other hand, started off the better for Virtus.pro, who quickly got up to 8-1 as Counter-Terrorists on NiP's pick before the Swedes got three in a row to get themselves a chance.
Virtus.pro broke the streak quite soon though, and the halftime score was sitting at 11-4, and with the pistol round also going their way, there was little to no doubt that the Poles would take another top four finish at a major, at the least.
Both following anti-forcebuys nearly eliminated all hopes for the Swedish-Finnish squad, who soon had their heads down after the first gunround, which Virtus.pro came out on top of, making it 16-5 in the end.
